Lola is a 3 year old pug and boxer mix. She is a sweet girl with a great temperament and no behavioral problems even though she had a difficult past. Fortunately, she came to the attention of I.C.A.R.E., a rescue organization operated 100% by volunteers that has saved over 2,000 dogs since its inception in 2010. I.C.A.R.E. placed Lola in a foster home with a family who loves boxers and pugs.
But Lola also had her fair share of medical challenges, and after a series of tests and treatments, was diagnosed in July 2018 with left-sided chronic otitis media and externa. The recommeded treatment was total ear canal ablation (TECA) and lateral bulla osteotomy, a procedure used to manage severe canal or middle ear disease in dogs where other methods of treatments have failed. I.C.A.R.E. filed an application with WeHelpDogs.org for a grant out of its Charitable Fund for Dogs in Need, which was approved and paid for a successful surgery in September 2018.
Lola has since been recovering well with her foster family, who offered Lola their home as her forever home.
